FORT WAYNE — A pair from Trine University’s bridge team topped their division during the recent Fort Wayne Sectional of the American Contract Bridge League.
The event was held Aug. 4-6 at the Fort Wayne Bridge Center in Fort Wayne.
The pair of Cameron Orr, a Master of Business Administration student from Angola, Indiana, and Treyton Sederstrom, an actuarial science major from Cedar Lake, Indiana, took the top place in Section B with a session score of 71.
Ryan Hoak, a civil engineering major from Warsaw, Indiana, and Lucas Jackson, a civil engineering graduate, placed ninth in the section. There were 13 teams total.
Trine University will host the sectional in 2024. The event will be held Aug. 2-4.
Trine University students learned about opportunities available with the Purdue Data Mine during a special presentation on April 10 in the Mark and Sarah Music/Ruoff Mortgage Esports Arena.
Trine University has received a lead gift from Dr. Rick L. James, alumnus and chair of the university’s Board of Trustees, and his wife, Dr. Vicki L. James, for a new building to house Trine’s business school.
Trine University’s esports teams won the Block House Esports League MIAA competition Sunday, April 12, the first time Trine has secured the title in back-to-back semesters.
