Trine University and CLH, CPAs & Consultants team up to provide educational opportunities

August 10, 2023

MICHIGAN CITY, Ind. — Fostering a lifelong passion for learning and growth is a shared goal of both Trine University and CLH, CPAs & Consultants. Trine University is extending unique learning opportunities to CLH’s team and CLH is extending support for Trine’s educational programs and expanding its recruiting reach to Northeast Indiana.

Trine is proud to offer this opportunity to a range of employers who have an interest in developing a stronger relationship with the university.

As part of the partnership, Trine University is offering CLH’s team and the team member’s spouse an opportunity to pursue undergraduate coursework at a reduced rate for TrineOnline degree programs.  If they complete degrees, their eligible dependent children who enroll at Trine’s Angola campus are eligible to receive the Legacy Award toward tuition expenses.

“We’re very proud to welcome CLH to the growing list of companies that support their employees through educational partnerships with Trine University,” said John Shannon, Ph.D., Trine University president. “Just as CLH prides itself on individualized attention for its clients, Trine University will provide individualized attention for all the CLH employees who choose to advance their education here.”

Trine University also has the capacity to design customized coursework, degree, or certificate programs to fit CLH’s educational needs.  “There’s nothing more exciting for us than to see our team develop in new ways, especially when it comes to advancing their education,” remarked Robert Lange, CPA, and Managing Partner of CLH.  “Our relationship with Trine will make higher education opportunities even more accessible to our team members and their families, which we know will open even more doors for current and future generations.”

CLH, CPAs & Consultants’ employees also will enjoy the advantages available to all TrineOnline students, including more than 200 courses that use Open Educational Resources, free application for admission, and free 24/7 online tutoring for enrolled students.

TrineOnline now offers 10 courses with industry-recognized certificates embedded in them that will prepare learners to take the certification exam after the course, or earn the certification upon completion of the course.

Trine University personnel will guide CLH employees through the application process, provide an unofficial transfer credit evaluation, and allow CLH employees to transfer up to 90 credits into TrineOnline degree programs.

After enrollment, Trine’s program advisors will support CLH employees in staying on track for degree completion, including assisting with grant and scholarship opportunities.  The firm is also provided access to business planning, product development, and process improvement services through Trine Innovation One (i1), part of Trine’s Career Center.

As an employer partner with Trine, CLH looks forward to extending its recruiting pipeline to students in Northeast Indiana.  The firm will have enhanced access to recruit Trine University students and graduates for internships and jobs, as well as the opportunity to speak on campus to student organizations. Tony Gillisse, CPA, and Partner at CLH commented, “We’re excited to get to know more Trine students as they pursue educational tracks that line up with public accounting.  We’ve enjoyed having Trine graduates launch their careers at CLH over the years and look forward to seeing more join our firm.”
