Trine raising money for scholarships, programs on Giving Tuesday

Picnic with the President

Trine University will once again be part of Giving Tuesday, with a goal of raising $244,000 toward student scholarships, academic programs and athletics or activities.

“We owe our success to the strength and support of our Trine community,” said Christine Miller, director of annual giving at Trine. “As we commemorate this day of global generosity, we humbly ask alumni, parents, friends, faculty and staff to support a department, team, student organization or scholarship that holds a special place in their heart. We invite everyone to join us in making a meaningful contribution that will have a positive impact on our community.”

Between now and Giving Tuesday, which will be held Nov. 28 this year, anyone who would like to support Trine University and its students can go to trine.link/givingtuesday23 to donate.

Donations are being accepted toward scholarships, the Trine Fund and Books & Beyond, as well as for individual academic schools or departments, athletic teams, Education One, student government and the T.Furth Center for Performing Arts.

Giving Tuesday, held the first Tuesday after Thanksgiving, has been celebrated since 2012. Intended to counter more commercial post-Thanksgiving events such as Black Friday and Cyber Monday, Giving Tuesday seeks to celebrate and encourage charitable giving internationally at the beginning of the holiday season.
