Trine University is now accepting applications from students who wish to enter its
Surgical Technology program in fall 2024.
The application to the associate of applied science in surgical technology is free
and is available at www.trine.edu/st. In addition to no application fee, there are no out of state tuition costs for students
and financial aid is available.
The surgical technology students entering in fall 2024 will be the first to begin
their program in the new Dr. Earl D. and Melanie N. Brooks College of Health Professions
facility, located near Parkview Regional Medical Center on Fort Wayne’s northeast
side. The new facility will offer state-of-the-art classrooms and laboratories, an
innovative Simulated Patient Care Center, mock surgical rooms, sterile processing
and more.
“This is an exciting time to join Trine University’s surgical technology program,”
said Jennifer Lloyd, program director. “All of our graduates have passed the national
certification exam and gained employment prior to or at graduation since the program’s
inception in 2019. Our new building space and many amenities will continue to add
value to the student experience.”
Trine University’s Associate of Applied Science in surgical technology program prepares
students for a career in the growing field of surgical technology, allowing them to
complete a degree in as little as 17 months. The program provides maximum clinical
exposure, beginning in the first semester, at multiple sites.
“Our clinical partners are very engaged in helping Trine students succeed as surgical
technologists,” Lloyd said. “In addition, our program instructors bring a combined
90 years in the field, providing Trine students with real-world insights to complement
their theoretical knowledge and practical experiences.”
