Angola Main Street and Trine University are hosting the third annual Trine Fest from noon-4 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 24, in downtown Angola.
Community members are invited to join Trine students for family-friendly events around the Mound, including food trucks, inflatables, carnival games, a dunk tank, craft activities and more.
“Trine Fest is a wonderful opportunity for the Trine campus and the community of Angola to join together for food and fun,” said Jennifer LaRose, executive director of camps, conferences and events at Trine. “We’re grateful for the warm welcome the city of Angola gives our students each year and love the opportunity to celebrate the partnership between the university and its home of 140 years.”
The event is one of many on and off the Trine University campus welcoming students back for the fall semester. Classes begin at Trine on Aug. 19.
Welcoming employees to a new school year for the first time as president, Tony Kline, Ph.D., praised them for helping make Trine University one of the region’s premier institutions.
Having graduated from Trine University, Fr. Bryan Paulsen, S.J., Ph.D., hoped to have a current Trine student work as part of his Research Experience for Undergraduates (REU) team this summer at the University of Notre Dame.
When their son Parker received his diploma from Trine University President Earl D. Brooks II, Ph.D., at this year’s May Commencement, it was a full-circle moment for Stephen and Brooke Pelletier.
