
Areeba Kazi wins Jannen Dean’s Award for Excellence
Areeba Kazi, a Trine University biology major from Angola, Indiana, is the winner of the inaugural Jannen School of Arts and Sciences Dean’s Award for Excellence in Student Research.

Held at Glendarin Hills Golf Club In Angola, the event acknowledges professionals and organizations who set the bar in their respective categories, as determined by votes from Chamber members.
“This organization is a powerhouse of progress, innovation and community spirit,” said a statement read at the award presentation. “With continuous growth, they are not only preparing the next generation of leaders but also putting our community 'on the map.' Their vibrant location brings jobs, visitors and energy to the area, supporting local businesses and enriching our economy.”

Their dedication to education, visionary leadership and unwavering support for community initiatives make a real and lasting impact. The organization is truly an integral part of our community.”
Rachel Troutman, vice president for university marketing and communications, accepted the award on behalf of the university.
Trine University faculty members Tim Tyler, Ph.D., professor in the Reiners Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering, and Justin Bock, assistant professor in the Franks School of Education, received nominations in the Educator of the Year category. Trine alumna Allie Curdes, an officer in the City of Angola Police Department, was nominated for First Responder of the Year.
Chamber member businesses are nominated by their peers, earning recognition and prestige for their great contributions to their customers, the community and the Chamber.
