Outstanding High School Teaching Award from Connor Large.
Trine University’s Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering presented its
annual Outstanding High School Teaching Award to Carrie Orlowski, a mathematics teacher
at Triton Jr./Sr. High School, on April 14.
The award honors a teacher with exceptional dedication to inspiring students to pursue
mathematics, science and engineering careers. It includes a $250 stipend and a commemorative
plaque.
Orlowski was nominated by Connor Large, an electrical engineering major from Plymouth,
Indiana.
Large commended Orlowski for her unwavering commitment to her students' success. Notably,
when the school faced a vacancy in its physics department, she proactively pursued
certification and assumed responsibility for teaching the subject.
Her dedication has been instrumental in making clear the interconnectedness of mathematics
and physics with the engineering field, inspiring young minds to explore these crucial
disciplines.
