Education One, the charter school authorizer at Trine University, has named Emily
Gaskill as its executive director.
Gaskill has served as interim executive director for Education One since April. Prior
to stepping into the interim executive director role, she was director of accountability
for the organization.
“Emily is a collaborative, thoughtful, creative problem-solver who values providing
effective and mission-minded support to K-12 school leaders, teachers and students,”
said Tony Kline, Ph.D., executive vice president at Trine University. “We are excited
for her new leadership role and look forward to her positive impact.”
As executive director, Gaskill will oversee all aspects of charter school authorization,
accountability, compliance and support services. She will serve as a key connector
between Trine University and its K–12 charter schools, leading efforts to align services
and policies to ensure every student has access to the tools, support and opportunities
they need to thrive.
“I’m honored to lead the state’s premier charter school authorizer as we continue
to support a growing number of public charter schools in achieving strong, measurable
student outcomes,” she said. “Everything we do is about students, and it’s rewarding
when they are able to succeed thanks to the innovative educational practices offered
at Education One charter schools.”
Gaskill holds a Bachelor of Arts in elementary education from Ball State University,
which led to her early work as a reading, kindergarten and first-grade teacher. She
later earned a Master of Science in curriculum and instruction from Western Governors
University, which launched her into leadership roles as a regional academic director,
supporting schools across Indiana and Ohio.
She lives in Fort Wayne, Indiana, with her husband and daughter.
