Trine Greek organizations, members receive national honors

Several Greek organizations and members of Greek organizations at Trine University received national awards over the summer.

Tau Kappa Epsilon

The Beta-Epsilon Chapter of the Tau Kappa Epsilon (TKE) fraternity at Trine University was announced as a recipient of the Top TKE Chapter award on Aug. 21.

“Top TKE Chapters exemplify excellence in how they operated in the 2025-26 campaign. This is a team effort with collegiate leaders, volunteers, campus support and professional staff driving these chapters to their potential,” said TKE Chief Executive Officer Donald E. Aldrich.

Alpha Sigma Tau

The Epsilon Kappa Chapter of Alpha Sigma Tau at Trine University was recognized at the sorority's 46th national convention, held in Minneapolis from June 11-14.

The Epsilon Kappa Chapter was recognized with the Health and Safety Excellence Award, the Financial Excellence Award, the Academic Improvement Award and the Campus Citizenship Excellence Award.

The Health and Safety Excellence Award is presented to chapters exhibiting an outstanding commitment to risk prevention, education and management. The Financial Excellence Award is presented to chapters exhibiting strong budgeting and billing practices, financial management and overall financial health.

The Academic Improvement Award is presented to chapters with the greatest improvement in their average chapter GPA from Fall 2024 to Fall 2025. The Campus Citizenship Excellence Award is presented to chapters demonstrating active engagement in their campus and Panhellenic communities.

The Epsilon Kappa Chapter managed to increase their overall chapter GPA by 0.34, all while excelling in the areas of finance and health and safety.

Delta Chi

The Tri-State Chapter of Delta Chi received the fraternity’s Outstanding Growth Award, Raymond D. Galbreth Award and several core competency awards. Awards were announced in early August.

Trine 2026 graduate Michael Ledyard received the Chapter Luminary award, presented to an undergraduate who has excelled in on-campus involvement, dedication to leadership and meaningful community service efforts.

Jack Tarpein, a design engineering technology major from Jonesboro, Indiana, received the "E" Key award, which signifies extraordinary efforts in the communication and reconnection of alumni, storytelling and accurate reporting.

Vito Maniaci, a computer science and information technology major from Oakley, Michigan, received the Marge Lee outstanding "C" award, which signifies completing duties at the highest level while being a steadfast community leader.

Kappa Sigma

The Theta-Xi Chapter of the Kappa Sigma fraternity received the 100% Ritually Proficient Award, given to chapters where all eligible members have completed required ritual proficiencies, and the Academic Excellence Award.

Awards were announced July 13.

Cory Hill, a finance major from Tippecanoe, Indiana, received the Outstanding Grand Procurator Award, given annually to chapter officers who serve exceptionally in the role of Grand Procurator.

Chase Olson, a mechanical engineering major from Angola, Indiana, received the Outstanding Grand Scribe Award, given to undergraduate chapter members who serve as Grand Scribe and demonstrate exceptional leadership, professionalism and service.

Peyton Wagoner, a business administration major from Yorktown, Indiana, received the Outstanding Grand Treasurer Award.

Alpha Sigma Phi

Dane Chapman, a 2026 Trine alumnus, was inducted into the Alpha Sigma Phi undergraduate Hall of Fame during the fraternity’s Grand Chapter, held July 30-Aug. 2 in Dallas.

The fraternity selects 10 graduates out of 9,000 nationwide for the honor each year.
