Trine University named to national honor roll for mental health services

November 02, 2026

NEW YORK — Trine University has been recognized by a national education services company for its commitment to students’ mental health and well-being.

The university was one of 76 undergraduate institutions nationwide named by The Princeton Review to its Mental Health Services Honor Roll for 2027.

“Our students’ mental health and well-being has always been our top priority, and it’s nice to see that commitment reflected in this recognition,” said Megan Cook, MSW, LSCW, director of counseling services at Trine. “We have a very dedicated and resourceful team of clinicians on our counseling services team, and we are fortunate to partner with some amazing departments on campus.”

“Mental health assistance and support are a critical and growing part of the outstanding overall experience we offer to our students,” said Amy Heavin, vice president for student affairs at Trine. “We are grateful to Megan and her team for the excellent service they provide and to everyone who plays a part in creating a positive environment where our students can reach their full potential.”

"We are honored to recognize Trine University for the many ways it prioritizes the mental health of Trine University students and its exceptional commitment to their well-being," said Rob Franek, The Princeton Review's editor-in-chief. "When it comes to student success in college, well-being is everything."

Annual mental health survey

The Honor Roll recognition is part of an annual project — now in its third year — that The Princeton Review conducts in partnership with the Ruderman Family Foundation, an internationally recognized organization that works to end the stigma associated with mental health.

Honor Roll selections for 2027 were based on data from The Princeton Review's 2026 Campus Mental Health Survey. The survey covered 739 colleges and asked administrators 77 questions about their school's counseling, mental health and wellness services for students.

The Princeton Review also surveyed 56,000 students across 300 colleges about their awareness of their school's mental health services.

Among the 2026 Campus Mental Health Survey findings, The Princeton Review reported:

  • 71% of college students said their school prioritizes mental health (up 5% from 2025)
  • 49% of administrators say their school conducts wellness screenings of all students (up 19% from 2025).

The Princeton Review project also works to promote awareness of campus mental health services among college applicants and students attending colleges. The company reports information about the surveyed school's mental health services in its profiles of the schools.
