Trine University is offering select prerequisite coursework at a reduced tuition rate
of $150 per credit hour for students planning to apply to the Associate of Science
in Nursing (ASN) program beginning January 2027.
Applications for the January 2027 program start opened June 2.
Kim Bennett, vice president for enrollment management at Trine University, said the
reduced tuition rate for prerequisite coursework helps create a more affordable pathway
for students interested in pursuing nursing while allowing them to begin working toward
admission requirements.
“There is great demand for registered nurses, providing many employment options for
graduates, and that demand will only increase,” she said. “We’re glad to offer an
affordable option that will provide even more students a pathway to a successful career
in this critical field.”
100% pass rate
The ASN program is offered at either Trine’s Angola campus or the Brooks College of
Health Professions in Fort Wayne. Graduates of the ASN program are eligible to apply
to take the National Council Licensure Examination (NCLEX-RN) for registered nurses.
Graduates are equipped with the nursing knowledge, critical thinking, and clinical
judgment skills needed to provide safe, compassionate, patient-centered, holistic
care to diverse populations while collaborating effectively with other healthcare
professionals.
The program’s first graduates in December 2025, the most recent cohort with data available,
had a 100% pass rate on the National Council Licensure Examination (NCLEX) for registered
nurses.
The application for the ASN program will be open until Oct. 1.
