I have devoted my career to advancing education across diverse settings. I began as a Spanish educator, teaching learners from kindergarten through twelfth grade, while also contributing to Adult Education programs in English as a Second Language (ESL) and High School Equivalency (HSE/GED). These experiences instilled in me a deep appreciation for the transformative power of education across all ages and backgrounds.
Building upon that foundation, I transitioned into leadership, serving as a PK–8 building-level administrator for 13 years. In this role, I was entrusted with guiding faculty, staff, students and their families through the dynamic challenges of education, always with the goal of fostering environments where both children and educators could thrive.
My desire to extend my impact led me into higher education, where I had the privilege of working alongside dedicated professionals to launch Trine University’s Doctor of Occupational Therapy (OTD) program in 2024. Supporting this groundbreaking initiative until its accreditation was secured was both humbling and energizing, and it reinforced my commitment to building pathways for future professionals.
Today, I bring that same passion to my role as Director of Transition to Teaching at Trine University. In this position, I am honored to work behind the scenes to support the development of future educators- helping them discover their own gifts and prepare to make meaningful contributions in classrooms and communities. I view this work as both a responsibility and a privilege; shaping not only the next generation of teachers, but the ripple effects they will have on countless students throughout their careers.
