My nursing career began in 1991 after receiving an associate degree in nursing from Lutheran College of Health Professions. My clinical experience includes the practice areas of cardiovascular intensive care unit (ICU), long-term acute care (LTACH) and long-term care (LTC). During 19 years in clinical practice, I functioned in several roles: direct patient care, infection control, quality control, clinical education and administration.
After realizing that I was passionate about teaching and the professional development of nurses, I transitioned to the academic setting. Shortly thereafter, I became a board-certified nurse educator. I have been devoted to the education and professional development of nurses for over 15 years. Since coming to Trine, I have facilitated the development of several programs at the Brooks College of Health Professions and now support accreditation efforts for several Health Profession programs.
Outside of class, I spend time with my children and grandchildren. We enjoy working in the garden, cooking and a variety of crafting projects.
