Summary:

The position of PA Adjunct Faculty demands an individual dedicated to delivering exceptional teaching, fostering student engagement, and demonstrating expertise in their subject matter. Faculty must be committed to the centrality of a Trine University education and possess the ability to support the program in achieving excellence through teaching. Under the direction of the MPAS Program Director,  adjunct faculty will be responsible for creating and implementing the program curriculum by supporting Trine's mission of preparing students to succeed, lead, and serve.

Essential Responsibilities:

Adjunct Faculty must be responsible for, and actively participate in the processes of:

  • Provide student instruction, ensuring learning goals and competencies are met
  • Develop engaging and informative course content aligned with program objectives.
  • provide students with the necessary attention and instruction to:
  • acquire the knowledge, skills, and competencies required for entry into the profession
  • Evaluating student performance
  • evaluate student performance, assessing competencies, course goals, learning outcomes, and objectives.
  • Academic support for students
  • be available at least by email to answer questions related to course content
  • assuring the availability of remedial instruction

Required Education

  • Adjunct Faculty must be:
    • qualified through academic preparation and/or experience teaching
    • knowledgeable in course content assigned subjects
    • a physician assistant with a master’s degree preferred
    • current NCCPA certification
  • Adjunct Faculty alternatively may be:
    • a Certified Nurse Practitioner with experience in graduate-level teaching
    • a physician with current eligibility or unrestricted license as an allopathic or osteopathic physician in Indiana, certified by an ABMS or AOA approved specialty board
    • a PhD basic scientist or hold other academic/doctoral qualifications and relevant academic/clinical experience and fit into the mix of the other professionals of the developing program.
  • In addition, Adjunct Faculty:
    • must possess knowledge of the PA profession and be able to effectively advocate for the PA program and profession
    • must have a minimum of two years of clinical experience

Salary

Salary is based upon credit hours and course enrollment.
