Summary
The Administrative Assistant and DSO provides administrative support primarily to the staff in the Office of International Services. Additionally, the Administrative Assistant serves as a point of contact between the department and students, other university faculty and staff, and outside persons. Working with the international staff from the main Trine University campus in Angola, Indiana, the Administrative Assistant and Designated School Official (DSO) is responsible for all procedures related to I-20 processing, SEVIS record updating, and program updates.
This position is a full-time job with expectations of 40 hours per week.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Respond to inquiries from prospective international students and our international partners.
- Communicate effectively and promptly vital information via email, phone, Skype, etc.
- Serve as Designated School Official (DSO) to update and maintain the SEVIS records of nonimmigrant students, and other SEVIS responsibilities. Understand SEVIS/SEVP/DHS and USCIS regulations to assure Trine University students remain in compliance with current regulations.
- Maintain communications between Trine University and overseas partners.
- Other duties as assigned by the Assistant Vice President, and/or the Senior DSO.
Education and/or Experience
Bachelor’s Degree is required. Preference will be given to those who have previous experience working with international students or customers and/or in a private college/university office of admission
