Summary
The Assistant Academic Director provides support to academic operations by assisting in the oversight of faculty, curriculum, scheduling, and academic operations. This role plays a key part in ensuring the smooth administration of all academic programs within the college. The Assistant Academic Director works collaboratively with faculty, students, and administrative staff to maintain academic quality, enhance student success, and support faculty engagement.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Support academic operations through management of academic programs, faculty oversight, and curriculum implementation.
- Assist with course scheduling and faculty assignments by utilizing predictive analytics to optimize course offerings based on enrollment patterns.
- Monitor and analyze student performance data to identify trends, risk factors, and opportunities for intervention.
- Assist in the recruitment, onboarding, and training of faculty.
- Assist in faculty performance evaluations by analyzing student feedback and faculty teaching.
- Conduct program assessments by evaluating program and course effectiveness, identifying trends in student performance, and recommending data-driven improvements to the curriculum.
- Analyze reports and provide strategic recommendations to leadership to improve academic operations.
- Assist in accreditation, assessment, and compliance efforts by streamlining data collection and analysis processes for academic operations.
- Provide administrative and operational support for doctoral residencies, doctoral dissertation processes, student milestones, and faculty mentoring activities.
- Other duties as assigned.
Education and/or Experience
A minimum of a bachelor’s degree is required.
Preferred Education and Experience:
- A master’s or doctoral degree in a related field (education, business administration, etc.)
- Higher education administration
