Summary

The Assistant Director of Online & Academic Support coordinates the day-to-day operations of TrineOnline. Through the development of TrineOnline policies and procedures, this position will assist with academic support for faculty and staff, online developments, and program and course maintenance. The Assistant Director will collaborate with TrineOnline leadership to ensure high quality online offerings.  The ideal candidate will be a creative, enthusiastic team member who is eager to take ownership of various phases of online course projects to advance TrineOnline initiatives.  Attention to detail, organization, and prioritization skills are essential to this position.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Coordinates efforts surrounding TrineOnline programming and development, including the organization and documentation of these process.
  • Communicates with TrineOnline stakeholders on new online developments.
  • Monitors Open Educational Resource (OER) initiatives and its impact on the university.
  • Assists with training activities and support for TrineOnline stakeholders.
  • Monitors results and effectiveness of TrineOnline processes to identify strengths and areas of improvement
  • Verifies faculty compliance of the Online Instructor Teaching Agreement to ensure quality.
  • Serves as a resource for the TrineOnline academic team and researches online learning trends and best practices.
  • Assists with development and support of programs as directed by TrineOnline leadership.
  • Manages organizational goals, best practices, and deadlines for TrineOnline.
  • Collaborates on university-wide accreditation and assessment projects.
  • Seeks opportunities to implement innovative technologies to support TrineOnline.

Education and/or Experience

Bachelor's degree required. Five (5) years of work experience in instructional/educational technology, online learning, education, information science, or educational/training environment preferred. Experience using Moodle or other Learning Management Systems (LMS) and knowledge of instructional technologies are preferred.
