Summary
The Curricular Practical Training (CPT) Advisor is responsible for overseeing CPT at Trine University. The CPT Advisor works with international students to assist them in enrolling in CPT. This individual also manages all CPT processes. Additionally, this position assists students by serving as a Designated School Official (DSO).
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Advise international students on matters relating to Curricular Practical Training (CPT).
- Process Curricular Practical Training (CPT) applications.
- Communicate CPT processes and procedures with international students.
- Serve as a Designated School Official (DSO).
- Process international student requests including I-20s.
- Advise students on immigration status related information.
- Work with the International Student Support Specialist on OPT student requests.
- Ensure students enrolled in CPT are registered for the CPT course each semester.
- Work with the Director of Advising and Student Success on the adding and dropping of CPT courses.
- Provide students with CPT related documents when requested.
- Oversee the CPT email inbox.
- Stay up-to-date on government updates for international students.
- Additional duties as assigned.
Education and/or Experience
Bachelor’s degree preferred.
Preferred:
- Experience with international student relations.
