Summary

The Director of Student Success for the Brooks College of Health Professions (BCHP) serves as a strategic, student-centered leader responsible for advancing student success, retention, and degree completion. This role provides coordinated academic, personal, and resource-based support for BCHP students across undergraduate, graduate, and online programs.

The Director acts as a central connector among students, faculty, and campus partners, ensuring students can effectively navigate university resources while progressing toward graduation. This position oversees early alert and We Care processes, coordinates academic support initiatives, supports accreditation-related student documentation, and promotes equitable access to services. The Director provides guidance and advocacy for students while supporting—rather than enforcing—academic and institutional policies.

Duties and Responsibilities

Student Support & Academic Success

  • Provide individualized guidance to students facing academic, personal, or transitional challenges.
  • Deliver academic coaching in areas such as study skills, time management, test preparation, and professional exam readiness in collaboration with faculty mentors via group workshops and targeted one-on-one sessions.
  • Assist students in navigating campus services, including counseling, disability services, career services, housing, financial aid, and wellness resources.
  • Coordinate support groups and events focused on stress management, mental health, and student well-being.
  • Provide proactive outreach to students regarding deadlines, resources, and support opportunities.
  • Partner with the Director of Accessibility and Accommodations to review program technical standards within the accommodation process.
  • Serve as a liaison with faculty regarding student concerns.
  • Serve as the Designated School Official for Brooks College international students in collaboration with the Principal Designated School Official.

 Retention, Early Alert & Care Coordination

  • Serve as the primary administrator for the Brooks College We Care Early Alert System, ensuring timely outreach and follow-up with students of concern.
  • Monitor retention trends and collaborate with faculty and administration on data-informed retention strategies.
  • Participate in institutional retention and strategic planning initiatives.

 Academic Support & Tutoring Coordination

  • Organize and coordinate peer and professional tutoring services aligned with BCHP program needs.
  • Maintain tutor rosters, match tutors with referred students, and track utilization and outcomes.
  • Increase visibility and awareness of academic support services across BCHP programs.

Compliance, Accreditation & Communication

  • Collaborate with the BCHP Accreditation Compliance Officer and program faculty to ensure accurate and consistent student-facing communication related to:
    • Admissions and progression requirements
    • Remediation and grievance processes
    • Accommodations and accessibility
    • Graduation requirements and accreditation status
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation of student services to support accreditation, reporting, and program reviews.
  • Verify the accuracy of program handbooks, orientation materials, and BCHP-related web content.
  • Administer secure test proctoring for online/hybrid students, those requiring accommodations, and for classes at the request of faculty.

Financial & Resource Navigation

  • Assist students in understanding and accessing financial aid, scholarships, emergency assistance, and affordability resources.
  • Manage BCHP-related retention resources and student assistance requests.
  • Support students with practical life-navigation needs that may impact academic success (e.g., housing or food insecurity referrals).

Student Engagement & Community Building

  • Partner with faculty, staff, and student leaders to support student life initiatives and engagement programming.
  • Strengthen belonging and connection across BCHP cohorts, including online students.
  • Represent Student Success and BCHP at recruitment, orientation, and campus events.
  • Represent BCHP at prospective student recruitment events as needed.
  • Coordinate BCHP social media advertising, including both organic content and paid campaigns.

Administrative & Operational Responsibilities

  • Manage assigned budgets and track related expenditures.
  • Regularly report metrics and outcomes to campus stakeholders.
  • Provide evening and weekend coverage as needed to ensure continuous student support.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Dean of the Brooks College of Health Professions.

 

Required Education & Experience

Bachelor’s Degree is required. Master’s degree preferred. Significant experience in student success, student affairs, or related higher education support roles preferred.
