Summary
The Director of Partnerships and Engagement is responsible for creating and sustaining strategic connections between Trine University and its authorized K–12 schools, with a primary focus on increasing university matriculation among students from Education One public charter schools. This role supports partnership development through community engagement and strategic communication, including digital media and storytelling to amplify the partnership’s impact.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities

- Build and sustain mutually beneficial partnerships between Trine University and Education One K–12 partner schools.
- Lead initiatives that strengthen the matriculation pipeline from K–12 schools to the university (e.g., dual enrollment, student visits).
- Use enrollment and outreach data to continually refine strategies and improve matriculation outcomes.
- Identify and pursue grant opportunities that support partnership development and outreach programs.
- Plan and represent Education One at community outreach events, K–12 celebrations, and university recruitment activities.
- Collaborate with university departments and faculty to align Trine’s resources with K–12 school needs.
- Cultivate relationships with school leaders, community organizations, and university partners to broaden support networks.
- Develop and oversee social media and digital content to showcase partnership success and increase engagement.
- Monitor, evaluate, and report on partnership outcomes, matriculation data, and engagement metrics.
- Serve as a liaison and effective communicator across internal and external stakeholders to advance partnership goals.
- Support other university and charter school initiatives as needed to promote student success and institutional collaboration.
- Additional duties as assigned.
Education and/or Experience
Bachelor's degree in education, communication, public relations, or a related field and at least three years of related experience. Master’s degree in relevant field and/or experience working with K-12 schools, charter school systems, or higher education admissions is preferred.
