Summary
The Director of Student Support provides services to promote the retention and academic/personal success of Trine Students. The Director of Student Support will assist students to ensure progression towards graduation goals; establish and maintain collaborative working relationships with various university constituents including academic departments, dean of students, campus safety, housing and residence life, student health center, academic success, and other relevant departments. The Director of Student Support monitors the We Care system and facilitates Assessment Care Team meetings to identify and follow up with students of concern.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Responsible for providing guidance to students facing obstacles to academic/personal success.
- Manages all functions of the WeCare Early Alert System.
- Partners with faculty, staff, and administration in identifying trends and researching best practices in student retention.
- Responsible for participation in the retention and strategic planning processes of the institution.
- Manage the retention budget, requests for aid, Books and Beyond processes, share closet, and student assistance.
- Responsible for all communication to related faculty and staff when students are unable to attend class due to family emergencies, health issues, etc.
- Participate as the leader of the Assessment Care Team (ACT).
- Partnering with Campus Safety to perform occasional wellness checks or locate students of concern.
- Assist students in navigating services and offices across campus.
- Responsible for other duties as assigned by the Assistant Dean of Academic Affairs.
- Respond to student resource needs at the Brooks College of Health Professions
- Serve as a representative of Student Success at campus recruitment events.
- Regularly report area metrics to campus stakeholders.
- Provide night and weekend coverage and supervision as needed to ensure continuous support and accessibility for students beyond traditional business hours.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Direct supervision of work-study students and student workers/ambassadors assigned to Student Success.
Education and/or Experience

Bachelor’s Degree is required. Substantial student life or student success experience is preferred.
