Summary

The Doctorate of Information Technology (DIT) Program Director has the strategic responsibility and accountability for academic quality and operations of the doctorate program in the College of Graduate and Professional Studies/TrineOnline. The DIT Program Director is an experienced and motivated leader with the interpersonal skills to build an inviting advising experience for doctoral students and supporting atmosphere for faculty to provide quality online education.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Develop the curriculum for the Doctorate of Information Technology (DIT) program and seek HLC program approval.
  • Advise and register international and domestic doctoral students through personalized one-on-one advising.
  • Coordinate program review and assessment with the Executive Director of Assessment and Accreditation along with faculty.
  • Hire, train, supervise, and evaluate faculty for the DIT program.
  • Oversee continuous student advising and support to ensure all capable and motivated students complete the DIT program, meeting each semester’s retention goal.
  • Teach assigned courses in the DIT program and engage in scholarship and service.
  • Oversee the advising and mentoring of students throughout the dissertation process, including overseeing  dissertation committee members and processes.
  • Implement and manage the policies of the DIT program.
  • Work closely with the Academic Dean, Senior Director of Graduate Programs, and Senior Director of Online Learning and follow TrineOnline quality procedures throughout the development, progression, and growth of the DIT program.
  • Collaborate with admissions and the Office of International Services to assist with admission efforts when needed.
  • Additional duties as assigned.

Education and/or Experience

Terminal degree in information technology required.

Preferred:

  • Experience in online learning or higher education.
  • Experience in curriculum development and online course development.
  • Experience with advising students, student affairs, counseling or related experience.
  • Experience with multiple modes of instructional delivery, as well as faculty oversight and coaching.
