Summary

The Information Security & Business Analyst is responsible for securing, analyzing and documenting business processes and systems. The position is the primary contact for security alerts, vulnerabilities, training, and initiatives. The position requires competencies in security best practices, Nessus vulnerability scanner, Proofpoint training platform, and SIEM products. This position reports to the IT Operations Manager.

Essential Responsibilities

  • Manage the risk assessment lifecycle along with our cybersecurity contractor.
  • Oversee, design and support Office 365 systems for Security and Compliance.
  • Lead and support security training initiatives through ProofPoint’s Training Platforms.
  • Manage the Nessus Vulnerability Scanner and report vulnerabilities to IT Operations team.
  • Direct and participate in monthly maintenance of systems.
  • Oversee the University’s SIEM products and services.
  • Oversee the software procurement policy for the University.
  • Knowledge of DR/recovery tools such as Quest AppAssure or Veeam.
  • Anticipate new security threats and stay-up-to-date with evolving security needs.
  • Develop strategies to handle security incidents and coordinate investigations.
  • Build relationships with customers in order to analyze, transform, and resolve business problems with the help of technology.
  • Use help desk ticket system and document progress for work performed.
  • Troubleshoot production issues according to service level targets.
  • Provide excellent customer service in all written and verbal communications.
  • Identify innovative solutions that support the University mission.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Education and/or Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology Cybersecurity.
