The general duties of the assistant is to assist in the operation of mail room.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

The assistant will perform duties that exceed customer expectations and contribute to an efficiently run mail services. Some of the duties include:

  • Interact with customers, faculty and staff
  • Deliver and pick up mail from offices around campus
  • Deliver and pick up mail from post office
  • Check in mail delivered by USPS, UPS and FedEx
  • Distribute mail into student mail boxes
  • Operate mail room metering machine computer
  • Process single letter/package mailing to bulk mailings
  • Utilize Q Trac package processing system
  • Search for competitive rates on computer

Education and/or Experience

High School Diploma or GED


  • Health – medical, dental, vision, prescription drugs, flex spending or HSA accounts
  • Retirement – after one year of full-time service you are eligible for employer contribution of 5% and up to an additional 5% employer match
  • Life Insurance – a variety of voluntary life options are available along with employee life insurance (1½ times annual salary)
  • Education – after 6 months of full-time service education benefits are available for employee, spouse, and dependent children
  • Vacation and Sick Pay – in accordance with Trine's policy


The salary is competitive and commensurate with experience and qualifications.
