Summary

The Student Services Coordinator/Housing Assistant has the direct responsibility for coordinating the day-to-day operations of and providing administrative support to the functions within the Office of Student Services.  This position will also provide support to the Director of Housing with a variety of administrative responsibilities. This position requires a high level of confidentiality, the ability to multi-task and experience with Microsoft Office and StarRez.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

The Coordinator works and contributes through a team-oriented approach to assist the Office of Student Services in the overall operations.  The Coordinator’s primary responsibilities are to provide coordination, administrative assistance and collaborative services to the directors within the Office of Student Services.  

  • Responsible for the hiring, training and scheduling of student workers assigned to the Office of Student Services.
  • Coordinates engagement functions between the student body and the Office of Student Services.
  • Assist in creating and disseminating weekly, monthly or annual reports on behalf of the Office of Student Services.
  • Assists the Dean of Students with budgetary functions.
  • Provides administrative assistance for Campus Safety, Counseling Services, Residence Life/Commuter Services and the University Health Center.
  • Other duties as assigned by the Dean of Students.

The Housing Assistant works and contributes through a team-oriented approach to assist the Director of Housing with the services provided to on-campus residential students.  The Housing Assistant’s primary responsibilities are to provide support to the housing staff and residential students throughout the application, room selection, move-in, inspection and move-out processes. 

  • Assist with the filing and organization of housing records, key inventory, compiling housing reports and maintaining the housing database.
  • Other duties as assigned by the Dean of Students.

Education and/or Experience

  • High School Diploma required
  • Two to four years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Associates degree preferred
