Angola Girl Scouts explore The Remnant Trust at Trine

May 22, 2014

girl scoutsA troop of Girl Scouts from Hendry Park and Ryan Park schools in Angola looked through the early and first-edition books and documents from The Remnant Trust that are on loan to Trine University.

The fifth-graders from Hendry Park are studying the American Revolution and appreciated an opportunity to see and hold documents that show the nation's path to democracy. They saw the exhibit on Tuesday, May 20.

Professor emeritus Tom Tierney, Ph.D., explained the works to the girls and encouraged each to pick up the books for a closer look.

The troop is led by Linda Conley, chair of business and finance in Trine's Ketner School of Business, and Mary Ditmars, library at Hendry Park School.

The Remnant Trust, on exhibit in Taylor Hall, is open from 10 a.m. to noon on Saturdays through June 14 and from 4 to 5 p.m. Friday, June 20. To arrange for a group tour at a different time, please contact Dareen McClellan at 260.665.4133 or mcclelland@trine.edu.
