Trine University annual golf outing raises more than $25k for scholarships

Generous donors took advantage of the Florida sunshine to participate in the sixth annual Scholarship Golf Classic that helped Trine University raise more than $25,000 for scholarships.

Forty-four golfers turned out for the annual event that took place Jan. 23 at Longboat Key, Fla. The scholarship golf event supports the Trine Fund for student scholarships.

In a scorecard playoff, winners were the team of alumni John Goudy, John Stock, Darryl Shoff and Mike Galiyano. They shot a 64.

The group that tied with them and earned second place was the JICI (Jim Ingledue Construction) team of Ken Wilson, Paul Headley, Max Gnagy and Larry Mecus.

Special events winners were:

Longest Drive – Ray Stuckey

Closest to the Pin – Jim Sexton

Longest Putt Made – Mike Jaicomo

The seventh annual Scholarship Golf Classic is scheduled for Jan. 22, 2015, in Longboat Key.
