Ceremonies honor deceased Trine community members

The Trine University community on Friday (April 17) honored two community members who died recently.

Graduate student Anjuman Vahora passed away last weekend after a short battle with cancer. Anjuman’s family traveled to campus to meet students and friends and attend the tree dedication ceremony that took place between Best Hall and Forman Hall. Travis Wilhelm, campus minister, encouraged students and family members to share their memories and love for Anjuman during the ceremony and offered a prayer for the family.
 
Friday afternoon, a tree dedication ceremony in memory of Les Gowthrop, a Trine employee who died April 10. The ceremony for Les took place near Fabiani and Platt halls along Thunder Drive. Les had been a painter at Trine and often drove athletic teams to events. Pastor Wilhelm invited everyone to share memories of Les before he led a prayer.

Flowers were presented to each family as part of the ceremony.
