Student group shows appreciation to Angola police

A group of students from Trine University’s MGT 323 Leadership class presented a plaque Monday, April 10, to members of the City of Angola Police Department in appreciation for the department’s service to the community. Pictured, from left, are: Police Sgt. Mike Lesiak; Sgt. Chuck Thomas; Assistant Chief Ken Whitmire; Chief Stu Hamblen; Brett Neveraski, a junior from Elkhart; Mayor Richard Hickman; Danny Powell Jr., Ph.D., who teaches the class; Aziz Al Ghuwiri, a sophomore from Saudi Arabia; Sarina Harig, a junior from Auburn; and, in front, Kimberly Hobbs, a junior from Kendallville. The presentation was one of several community service projects researched and performed by teams of class members as part of the course curriculum.
