Trine forms partnership with Japanese university

Tsutomu Haeno, dean of the School of Science & Engineering at the Utsunomiya campus of Teikyo University in Japan, left, and Earl D. Brooks II, Ph.D., Trine University president, sign a memorandum of understanding between the two institutions Thursday, April 25, on the Trine University campus. Through the new partnership, Teikyo will send a cohort of students to Trine in August for two weeks of short-term intensive ESL and programming with Trine University engineering faculty. In the summer of 2020, Trine students will have the opportunity to travel to Teikyo for two months to conduct research in their specific engineering field with graduate students, as well as take classes in Japanese language and culture. Trine students who participate will earn three credits of Research Experience for Undergraduates and three humanities credits.
