The exercise science program within Trine University’s Rinker-Ross School of Health Sciences continues to see growth in success and outcomes, with an increased number of graduates from the Class of 2020 accepted into graduate school.
All 22 exercise science graduates who applied to Doctor of Physical Therapy programs were accepted, the first time Trine has seen 100 percent acceptance, said Catherine Swick, Ph.D., dean of the Rinker-Ross School of Health Sciences. Several exercise science graduates are also continuing on to other graduate programs.
“It’s encouraging that our numbers are increasing and we are equipping more students to continue on to graduate education,” said Swick. “This is a testament not only to the personal experience that is part of a Trine University, but the dedication of our students and the quality of our faculty within the Rinker-Ross School of Health Sciences.”
“I’m proud of these students, particularly with the challenges that the COVID-19 outbreak brought to this final semester,” said Shane Steele, chair of the Department of Exercise Science at Trine University. “I look forward to seeing each one thrive in graduate school and in their eventual career.”
