A professor from Trine University’s Franks School of Education (FSOE) gave a presentation
at an annual event sponsored by the Indiana Association of Colleges for Teacher Education
(IACTE).
The IACTE Summit ran from Nov. 7-8 at Butler University in Indianapolis. IACTE invited
members to submit proposals to speak at the conference, and Tolin’s proposal a session
titled re)Designing eLearning for ALL Learners, was accepted. Tolin’s session focused
on how educators can implement Universal Design for Learning in classrooms with and
without technological assistance with a special focus tips and tricks to help educators
design content that is accessible for all learners.
“Focusing on UDL and accessibility when designing content provides learners with exceptionalities
with what they need to be successful while also providing an extra benefit to all learners."
The summit, focusing on innovations, initiatives and best practices in teacher education,
was a great opportunity for Tolin and FSOE.
“It was great exposure for the FSOE at the state level!” she said
