Trine raises more than $100K during Giving Tuesday

December 02, 2021

Trine University raised more than $100,000 toward student scholarships, enhanced classroom experiences and state-of-the-art facilities on Giving Tuesday, Nov. 30.

The university received $101,161 throughout the day from 268 Trine alumni, employees, parents and friends.

“With many worthy organizations seeking to raise funds on Giving Tuesday, we’re grateful for everyone who chose to support Trine University and its students,” said Kent D. Stucky, J.D., vice president for university advancement. “Every gift is an investment in the future leaders and innovators who will graduate from Trine.”

Giving Tuesday, held the first Tuesday after Thanksgiving, has been celebrated since 2012. Intended to counter more commercial post-Thanksgiving events such as Black Friday and Cyber Monday, Giving Tuesday seeks to celebrate and encourage charitable giving internationally at the beginning of the holiday season.
