Trine University hosted Sushil Reddy, left, and Luis Fourzan, center, Friday evening, Sept. 10, on their solar-powered bicycle trip across the United States. Reddy, the former world record holder for longest journey on an electric (solar-powered) bicycle, is in the midst of a more than 90-day ride across the United States to raise awareness about solar energy as a sustainable energy source. The pair reached Trine on day 26 of their journey, with a little more than 1,300 miles completed out of more than 5,000 planned.

At right is Abigail DeCamp, a junior majoring in computing engineering at Trine who, along with Andrea Mitofsky, Ph.D., professor in Trine’s Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering, joined Reddy and Fourzan for dinner in the Depot on campus to learn more about their journey.
