Trine launches online programs in industrial engineering technology

June 07, 2022

Trine University has launched two new online academic programs to equip graduates to work in a variety of industrial settings.

Beginning this fall, Trine will offer associate and bachelor’s degrees in industrial engineering technology through TrineOnline. Built on a strong manufacturing foundation, the multidisciplinary programs equip graduates with skills to apply methodologies and tools to real-world manufacturing and design processes, and to increase production quality while reducing costs and lead times, all while maintaining safe, compliant work environments.

“These degree programs provide graduates with skills that are in demand by regional industries, providing those with experience and interest in production processes who want to advance their careers to take that next step,” said Keirsten Eberts, assistant vice president and dean of academics for TrineOnline.

Trine’s industrial engineering technology curriculum covers topics ranging from basic drafting of geometric sections to identifying health and safety risks present in manufacturing environments, Lean manufacturing, process improvement, quality assurance, industrial data analysis, problem solving and overall manufacturing leadership and operations.

Like all TrineOnline programs, the industrial engineering technology degrees offer the convenience and flexibility of a totally online format, letting students learn at their own pace and schedule.

Trine’s generous transfer credit policies allow students to transfer up to 90 credit hours from prior college courses, experiential learning, college level examinations or military coursework toward the degree programs, saving time and tuition costs.
