Miller's Health System, Trine add employee education options through new partnership

April 13, 2022

WARSAW — Miller’s Health System, Inc., the parent company of Miller’s Merry Manor, Miller’s Senior Living Communities, Theracare, and Miller’s Home Health Care Services, will expand its already impressive employee benefits package as part of a new partnership with Trine University.

This new agreement will provide team members with professional development and educational opportunities at Trine.

Miller’s employees will have access to more than 45 courses using open education resources, which eliminate textbook and materials costs.

As part of the program, team members will be eligible to receive up to 90 education transfer credit hours toward a bachelor's degree program, including credits derived from individual life experience and unique on-the-job training experience, allowing degree completion in shorter time frames with lower costs. In addition, those enrolled may access TrineOnline’s combined degree programs, which enable students to graduate with a bachelor’s and master’s degree simultaneously.

Through the partnership, Miller’s will receive complimentary professional development workshops for leaders and co-workers, available both online and on-site.

“We are very excited for this new partnership with Trine and the opportunities they’ve designed for multiple healthcare tracts,” said Patrick Boyle, President and CEO of Miller’s Health Systems.

Adds Jennifer Gappa, RN, Senior Vice President of Human Resources, “Trine will be helping Miller’s employees continue their educational development, which helps us better serve our surrounding communities. We are grateful for their partnership and assistance, helping us to recruit a diverse group of students and alumni to match our needs.”

“We are proud to help the team at Miller’s Health System meet their educational objectives,” said Earl D. Brooks II, Ph.D., Trine University president. “The services of these individuals are critical to our communities, and it is a privilege to assist them in meeting their career goals.”

Trine will continue to offer Miller’s free access to job posting and recruitment opportunities with current Trine students and alumni. The company also will have the opportunity to work with Trine innovation 1, which can provide marketing and expansion strategies, assistance with new products, and improvements to current processes or products. Miller’s will also be able to create customized courses, available online and on-site.

Miller’s Health Systems is a 100% employee-owned company serving seniors around Indiana. The company offers rehabilitation and therapy services, assisted living communities, memory care, long term care and home health care services.
