March 06, 2024

Innovators looking to obtain the funding to bring their ideas to life will have the opportunity to learn from workshops and make a pitch for cash prizes at Trine innovation 1’s first “Storm Tank” event this month.

Sponsored by Farmers State Bank, “Storm Tank” culminates in a pitch competition on March 28 modeled after the format used on popular television shows.

Those who register before March 20 at trine.link/storm-tank may participate in a workshop that day from 4-6 p.m. on using the Lean Canvas Plan. Conducted by Angela Harrison, entrepreneurship coach from the Northeast Indiana Innovation Center, the workshop will be held on the Trine campus.

A second workshop from 4-6 p.m. March 25 will allow those participating to work on their business plan with professionals and peers in an open house format.

Those chosen for the pitch competition will be notified on March 26.

The competition will take place from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. March 28 in the university’s Fabiani Theatre and features a $3,000 top prize, $1,500 second prize and $300 third prize.
