Trine University has named Cristy Jordán as its new Director of Transition to Teaching,
a program within the university’s Franks School of Education.
Cristy initially joined Trine University as an administrative and fieldwork assistant
in 2024. In her new role, Cristy will be responsible for supporting and growing the
transition to teaching program known as Trine’s Education Apprenticeship Model (TEAM).
TEAM is an affordable, 10-month, cohort-based program that offers licensure tracks
for teacher candidates throughout the state of Indiana.
“Cristy brings invaluable expertise to our program. We anticipate her strong communication
skills and dedication to supporting K-12 teachers will allow us to maintain our Transition
to Teaching focus,” said Alecia Pfefferkorn, assistant professor and interim dean
of the Franks School of Education. “Furthermore, her passion for building positive
relationships will foster a collaborative and supportive environment for our teacher
candidates and partnering school districts.”
Cristy holds a Bachelor of Arts in Spanish and sociology and a Master’s in Education
Administration, along with 24 years of experience in educational administration, safety
and cooperative leadership.
