Trine University stands ready to assist students of Siena Heights University impacted
by its decision to close at the end of the 2025-26 academic year.
“We’re saddened by the news from Siena Heights and will do everything we can to help
students there complete their degrees and move on to successful lives and careers,”
said Kim Bennett, vice president for enrollment management at Trine. “We’re confident
that many can find a home here at Trine University.”
To help support Siena Heights students financially, first-year students who had enrolled
at Siena Heights or those who transfer to Trine for enrollment in fall 2025 or fall
2026 will receive a $1,500 scholarship, renewable annually. Students who reside outside
the state of Indiana will qualify for the university’s $3,000 Out-of-State Grant,
which also renews each year.
In addition, Siena Heights students will receive one of the generous scholarships
that Trine offers to all transfer students. Amounts range from $14,000 to $20,000
annually and are based on each student’s college grade point average.
Trine University offers majors that align with many of Siena Heights’ academic programs,
and Trine graduates enjoy a more than 99% career placement rate after graduation.
Trine offers programs in arts and sciences, business, education, engineering and health
sciences.
For Saints looking to continue their athletic careers, Trine offers 36 intercollegiate
teams, 27 of which compete in NCAA Division III. The Thunder softball team recently
won its second national championship in the past three years, and Trine’s men’s basketball
team took the national title in 2024.
Like any student, Siena Heights University students can apply to Trine University
free of charge.
Trine University, similar to Siena Heights University, is a private, co-educational
college offering degrees in an environment that offers individual attention to each
student.
Trine is financially stable and continues to grow in its enrollment, academic programs
and facilities. The university set a record with nearly 15,000 students enrolled in
fall 2024. The university has invested more than $100 million in campus enhancements
over the past decade and looks forward to the opening of a new residence facility
this fall and the new John and Mary Pellegrino Student Design Center in fall 2026.
