Justin Weber, an experienced teacher and education administrator, has joined Trine
University as its new executive director of student success.
In this role, Weber will oversee the departments within the university’s Office of
Student Success and the administration of developmental and academic success services
for Trine University.
He will lead and assess university retention efforts, including early intervention,
personalized outreach and identification of barriers to student success.
“Justin’s background includes successfully optimizing and enhancing the student experience,
and we’re excited to have him do the same as executive director of student success
at Trine University,” said Amy Heavin, assistant dean for academics at Trine. “His
history of working collaboratively with students, educators, administrators and the
community to foster an innovative educational environment make him an ideal fit for
this position.”
Weber most recently served as assistant principal at Garrett High School, where he
managed discipline and attendance for more than 550 students. He also helped establish
robust Career and Technical Education programs at the school.
Prior to becoming assistant principal at Garrett High School, Weber served as a teacher
and coach over nine years at Wawasee, Twin Lakes and Garrett high schools. He consistently
earned highly effective ratings as a teacher and coached athletic teams to championships.
“In my work as a local educator and school administrator, I was well aware of the
great things Trine University is doing,” he said. “I’m proud to be a part of this
university and its mission, and to contribute to the continued success of Trine University
students.”
Weber earned his Bachelor of Science degree in secondary education from Manchester
College and his Master of Arts in Education with a specialty in education leadership
from Ball State University.
