Montana Martin says the faculty in Trine University’s Ketner School of Business are some of the smartest people she’s ever met. And she can pick their brains whenever she needs.

“I had one of (KSB dean) Toby Swick’s classes last semester: design operations. Having that class was mind-blowing. You could ask him any question and he had an answer to it,” Montana said. “Kelly Trusty, my advisor, talks with me about what I want to do in the future and how my classes are going. (Professor) Dawn Moore is also really awesome and brings a lot of knowledge.”

“All our professors are very knowledgeable and bring in real work experience. They have worked in the field for years and teach us about what they have done and learned.”

A business management major, Montana, a standout basketball player at Trine, hopes after graduation to become a graduate assistant and coach.

“I plan to earn my MBA, but I’m not ready to give the basketball life up yet,” she said.

The success of Trine’s women’s basketball team over the past two seasons has provided some special memories for Montana, including cutting down the net after the Thunder won the MIAA Conference in 2017.

“It was my first time ever cutting down a net,” she said. “It was awesome; something I’ll never forget.”
