A high school marketing class created an interest for Megan Verkamp by showing her the psychological aspects involved in a marketing plan.

“I thought that it was so cool to be able to have this imaginary product, yet be able to use what I knew about consumer behaviors and consumer demographics to be able to create a marketing plan that would appeal to them,” said Megan.

Verkamp, who graduated from Trine University in 2016 with a Bachelor of Science in marketing, is now working as a marketing manager for LHP Engineering Solutions.

Throughout her time at Trine University, Megan completed several internships that helped her gain the knowledge needed to succeed in her field. She was exposed to a variety of challenges from event planning around the Trine campus to serving as a consumer brand intern for a Fortune 500 company.

After an internship with Eli Lily and Company, she discovered how much more hands-on a job is at a smaller company, which is something she loves about her current job.

Megan now has the opportunity to be involved with many elements, including website content, social media content, trade show material, print publications, press releases, white papers, case studies, sales brochures, corporate blogs, email campaigns, and any other inbound marketing aspects. She also has to do research and provide insight on the market, trends, and potential and existing customers.

LHP Engineering Solutions works in the transportation industry and is at the leading edge of the autonomous vehicle.

“The most rewarding part of my job is knowing I work for a technology company that is working to make the world a smarter, safer place,” said Megan.
