Cassidy Williams grew up surrounded by athletics.

“My parents have both been involved with athletics,” she said. “It’s something I’ve known my whole life and I wanted to get into the business side of it.”

Drawn to Trine University by its small class sizes and close-knit campus community, Cassidy decided to channel her interest in athletics into a career by earning a sport management degree.

“I’m pursuing my MBA, and that will be finished up within the next year,” she said. “Long-term, I want to be a college athletic director.”

Cassidy has taken advantage of the opportunity Trine offers to become involved in student organizations and clubs, participating in the Sport Management Club, Delta Mu Delta business honor society and the Ehinger Fellows, which has allowed her to serve as an ambassador for the Ketner School of Business and a mentor to younger business students.

“I’ve been able to create relationships with professors and students that go far beyond just a friendly conversation to talking about career goals and other things we share,” she said.

A member of the women’s basketball team, Cassidy said the culture and work ethic of that successful program have taught her skills and lessons she will apply long after she hangs up her jersey.

“We’ve established a culture of expecting the best out of everyone,” she said. “This work ethic we’ve established here at Trine and what we’ve been able to do will continue into our future careers.”
