Short Story Club

Trine University has many clubs that are available to students, one of which is quite new. Beginning in the spring semester of 2021, the Short Story Club is where those who love stories meet virtually six times a year to read and discuss a wide variety of works.

Dr. Jeanette Goddard runs the club, which has from 4 to 15 members depending on the month. Due to the long time between meetings, members are allowed to choose what they want to read and if they want to attend the meetings or not. The club meets virtually because it started during Covid, and also because it has members from different demographics and even different countries.

When asked about the plans for the future of the club, she said “one of the things I am trying to do is to schedule it so alumni can join. It would be nice to keep that going as well. It’s a great group, very welcoming to everyone. Even if you don’t think that you are good at reading, everyone is welcome.”
