#WhyApply day coming Friday

September 21, 2023

Trine University encourages everyone to share why students should apply to college during the annual #WhyApply Day this Friday, Sept. 22.

#WhyApply Day is sponsored by the American College Application Campaign, an initiative of ACT’s Center for Equity in Learning. The center partners with high schools across the country each fall to host events supporting students through the college application process, especially first-generation college students and those from low-income families who may not otherwise apply to college.

Participants are encouraged to wear college gear and share on social media why they believe students should apply to college, or why they applied to college, using the hashtag #WhyApply.

#WhyApply Day kicks off the application season and provides encouragement for the students. State campaigns and local events will run from September through December.

The event leads into College Application Week, Sept. 25-29. College Application Week seeks to help high school seniors navigate the college admissions process, with a goal that each student submits at least one admissions application.

During the week, Indiana high school students will participate in College GO! Week activities that will help them find the right college to fit their personalities and interests.

Applying to Trine University is always free. Students seeking more information on applying can visit trine.edu/apply.
