Main Campus Undergraduate Scholarships

Trine University offers an extensive list of awards for prospective students*. If you need additional information about awards offered, please contact your Admission Counselor or call The Office of Admission at 260.665.4100.

Please note, students enrolled in 3+3, 3+2 or some 3+1 programs are considered undergraduates in years one, two and three. The fourth, fifth and sixth year they are considered a graduate student. All institutional awards for undergraduate programs will not be available during years four, five and six or when you are considered a graduate student.

*Students are limited to 2 stackable awards. All awards are not to exceed full-tuition.

 

Fall 2018 Undergraduate Awards

Alumni Referral Awards will be available to any new student officially referred by an alumnus of the University who applies, is admitted, and enrolls at Trine University. The future Trine University Alum will receive a $500 award. This award is renewable for up to 3 additional undergraduate years and is considered a stackable award.

Please have the Referral Form completed to be awarded.

NOTE: Legacy Award recipients are not eligible for the Alumni Referral Award. to be awarded.

Prospective students who can show proof of membership to the Boys and Girls Club of America are eligible for a $2,000 award. This award is renewable for up to 3 additional undergraduate years and is considered a stackable award.

Beginning for Fall 2019 students, students must have been a participating member of the Boys and Girls Club of America for a minimum of one year in order to qualify.

Please send a copy of your membership card to your admission counselor for you to be awarded.

Any prospective student who attended a Hoosier Boys or Girls State or a Buckeye Boys or Girls State is eligible to receive the $2,000 Boys or Girls State Award. This award is renewable for up to 3 additional undergraduate years and is considered a stackable award.

Applicants can receive this award by sending their admission counselor a copy of their completion certificate given to each participant.

Please complete the Diversity Application by May 1st to be eligible to receive this $5,000 award. This award is renewable for up to 3 additional undergraduate years and is considered a stackable award.

Chamber member dependents will receive a $2,000 award to pursue any Engineering, Forensic Science, Secondary Education, and Golf Management undergraduate degree programs at Trine (Angola, Indiana main campus).

Once you're admitted to Trine, you must verify parent/guardian’s full-time employment with a Chamber member company, or organization annually, by submitting a signed letter from the businesses HR department containing:

  • The parent/guardians employment status with the company
  • The name of the student that is to receive the scholarship
  • Sentence that confirms that the employer is a member of the Indianapolis Chamber of Commerce
  • Printed on letterhead
  • Signed by the employer

This award is renewable for up to 3 additional undergraduate years and is considered a stackable award.

Students who wish to pursue either the Pre-Medical Professional Track, Pre-Physical Therapy Professional Track or Pre-Physician Assistant Track are eligible for a $2,000 award.

Please indicate interest in these programs on your admission application. Requirements are 3.5 High School GPA, Top 25% in class, SAT Composite (Math and Reading) 1220, ACT Composite 25.

The student must maintain a minimum 3.5 GPA and continue to pursue one of the three tracks (Pre-Med, Pre-PT, Pre-PA) while attending Trine University as a full time, undergraduate degree seeking student.

This award is renewable for up to 3 additional undergraduate years and is considered a stackable award.

Trine University partners with Project Lead the Way to help meet the ever-increasing demand for engineers and technologists to serve today's high-tech world. The university supports Project Lead The Way through renewable Project Lead the Way Awards to students who have participated in its programs.

The PLTW Tuition Award is a $500 renewable award given to students who have completed a minimum of two (2) PLTW high school courses with a grade of “B or better in each course. To be eligible students must pursue and continue to purdue a degree in engineering or health sciences. Students must provide a high school transcript documenting the PLTW course taken and the grade earned from a PLTW certified high school.

Students enrolled in Trine University’s Allen School of Engineering and Technology or Rinker-Ross School of Health Sciences can receive up to 15 credit hours toward their degree:

  • College credit can be earned for all engineering programs at Trine
  • Credit hours vary from 3 to 15 college credits depending on the program
  • Credit is granted for both PLTW engineering and biomedical sciences programs

Any prospective student who has completed a Trine Dual Enrollment course is eligible to receive the $1,000 Trine Dual Enrollment Award. This award is renewable for up to 3 additional undergraduate years and is considered a stackable award.

The Trine Dual Enrollment Award is given to students who have completed a minimum of one (1) Trine Dual Enrollment course with a grade of "C" or better. Also to be eligible, students must have completed the Trine Dual Enrollment course no later than May of their high school senior year.

Any prospective student who can submit a one or a two class rank on their official high school transcript to The Office of Admission, is eligible to receive the Trine Valedictorian or Salutatorian award valued at $2,000 annually.

This award is renewable for up to 3 additional undergraduate years and is considered a stackable award.

Trine Valedictorian/Salutatorian scholars are among a highly select group of freshmen who are officially eligible to live in Trine's Honors Residence - Reiners Hall.

Important Notes:

  • The Honors Residence has limited space; assignments will be made and announced mid-summer.
  • Scholars will be assigned to the Honors Residence on a first come basis dependent upon the receipt date of the student's $300 Enrollment Deposit, which is refundable until May 1st.
  • Honors Residents are eligible to remain in the residence during their freshman and sophomore years. In their junior year students will be eligible to live in the Townhouse Villas.
  • Office of Admission reserves right to make exceptions based on space availability
