Thunder Ice Arena Brochure

Trine University's 46,200-square-foot, 700-seat Thunder Ice Arena is located on U.S. 20/West Maumee Street. The facility includes an NCAA-compliant ice rink; men's and women's varsity, club and visitor's lockers; weight and training rooms; concessions; a pro shop with wearables, sticks and skates for sale; a VIP lounge and press box. Thunder Athletics

Trine's NCAA DIII men's and women's hockey teams dropped the puck on their inaugural season in 2017 as a member of the Northern Collegiate Hockey Association, a conference of regional institutions. Trine also has two men's hockey teams playing in the American Collegiate Hockey Association DII and DIII.

The viewing suite/box overlooking the rink is available for rental.

NCAA Varsity Hockey Games
$350 per game, includes 20 tickets to the game and suite*

ACHA Club Hockey Games
$250 per game, includes 20 tickets to the game and suite*

*No outside food allowed. Catering is provided by campus provider Bon Appetit.

Skating

Build your skills or hit the ice for the first time with one of Thunder Ice Arena's several skating options. From Learn to Skate® classes to free skate and camps, you'll find it here.

Thunder Ice Arena offers Open Skate sessions to the general public and students. Open Skate is a great activity for friends and families.

The Learn to Skate program offers a wide range of classes to suit everyone's needs, from ages 3 to adult. Certified skating coaches teach basic skating skills that are a stepping stone for hockey, freestyle, synchronized and recreational skating. Fundaments of hockey and other classes are also available.

Thunder Ice Arena offers events for youth and adults to try skating for free. The events are a great way to try out skating and receive mini-lessons from our great Learn to Skate staff. Admission and skate rental are free!

Whether you're searching for youth hockey camps, adult drop-in hockey or youth leagues, Thunder Ice Arena is home a to several hockey options for the public.

Hockey camps/clinics offer skaters the opportunity to build skills necessary to optimize their potential within their age/skill range.
