The Needler-McGregor Award for Excellence in English

Presented to a student who preforms outstanding in the area of English, both in and out of the classroom.

The Department of Humanities and Communication Outstanding Senior Award

Created to honor excellence in academics and activities in the Department of Humanities and Communication.

The Jeanine B. Samuelson Student Distinction Award

Presented to a well-rounded and successful member of the Department of Humanities and Communication who has been nominated by their classmates.

Mal Foerster Backstage Award

Mal Foerster was involved with scenic design and construction with Drama Club and theatre at Trine University. In memory of his work an annual award is given to recognizes outstanding efforts and participation backstage. 

The Golden Microphone Award

Presented to a student who performs exceptionally in the are of media production–written, web, audio, or video. This work may be inside or outside of the classroom.

Hear My Voice Writing Competition

The Amy Salyer-Nicholls Writing Center presents Hear My Voice: an annual, campus-wide writing competition to find the best submissions in poetry, fiction, creative nonfiction, and academic writing.  

The Jannen Renaissance Scholar Awards

Presented to students and faculty who exhibit a breadth of interest and accomplishment consistent with Renaissance ideals. These awards are administered by the Humanities Institute.

Endowed in 1991 by Dr. Robert L. Jannen, chair emeritus of the board of trustees and TSU alumnus (BSChE 1950), and his wife Dolores. The awards are presented to students and faculty who exhibit a breadth of interest and accomplishment consistent with Renaissance ideals. These awards are administered by the Humanities Institute.
