2020 Honors Projects

Four members of Trine University's Class of 2020 completed Honors Projects. You can read and see more about these projects on the 2020 Honors Projects page.

Sometimes students need more. Greater challenges, deeper discussions. Trine enriches your classroom experience through our honors program. You'll explore in-depth topics in your major and other areas of interest with students who seek a greater academic challenge.

Benefits

Honors students develop a close-knit group of friends within the program. Besides attending classes together, honors students attend social events sponsored by the program and are eligible to live in the apartment-style Honor's Residence. Other great benefits include priority registration and special recognition at graduation.

Admission

Trine University's Honors Program began in the fall of 2006, giving students the opportunity to pursue a more in-depth understanding of topics in their major as well as in other areas of interest. Those students who meet the qualifications will be granted automatic admission in the program.

First year requirements:

  • A minimum SAT 1290 (R+M)/ACT 27
  • High school GPA of 3.75 or higher

Graduate with honors

Students may choose to complete either the Honors Program or the Honors Program with Distinction.

For either program, a student must complete coursework and service/leadership experiences while maintaining a GPA of 3.50. In order to earn Honors Program with Distinction a student will also complete an approved research or extended service or opportunity.
